Quinn Legal’s challenge raises £10,000 for Manx Cancer Help
On Saturday 14 July Quinn Legal challenged 6 corporate teams to a series of light hearted and fun tasks at the Venture Centre in Maughold. The objective was to create a combination of challenges based around teamwork, problem solving and communication skills as well as mental and physical agility. An initial task prior to the day’s challenges was to raise a £1,000 charity donation through whatever means the teams chose, with all proceeds going to Manx Cancer Help – a very worthy local cause and Quinn Legal’s chosen charity of the year.
Although monies are still coming in, the total figure is anticipated to be over £10,000. Paul Blake, Chief Operations Officer, and Steve Cobb, Business Development Manager, at Quinn Legal were extremely proud on behalf of everyone involved whilst handing the cheque for £10,000 to Andrea Chambers and Dawn Herbert of Manx Cancer Help.
Steve Cobb commented, “Putting this together was inspirational, demanding but also rewarding, as were the challenges themselves. To see companies from across the island coming together to compete, have fun and ultimately generate such an amazing sum of money for Manx Cancer Help is no mean feat and everyone should be commended. The money will make a huge difference to the running and the service offerings of Manx Cancer Help. Well done to all those involved and those that competed.”
Congratulations on the day went to the Panacea Pharma Projects Team for winning the inaugural Quinn Legal Corporate Team Challenge, beating the stiff competition by only a small margin. Also, a special mention to the Ramsey Crookall team who were a close second, who along with the Panacea Team raised the most money for Manx Cancer Help.
It was a fantastic day, with the weather remaining warm throughout which presented its own challenges. However, this didn’t deter the teams who all came together to complete the challenges and clearly demonstrate the traits of leadership, commitment and teamwork that are associated with all the competing companies. The day ended with the Challenge Cup being presented to the winning team; the celebrations continuing afterwards with a barbecue and hog roast. The event was a huge success and fun was certainly had by all. Everyone is looking forward to the Quinn Legal Corporate Team Challenge next year.
