Parish Walk and other events
Over the course of the year we have been very lucky that we have had many generous people raise money for us by taking part in events both local and afar.
From the Parish walk to the Three Peaks challenge we appreciate every step taken and every penny raised.
The hard work not only on the day of the events but all the hours put in training, the early morning starts and the late night walks show incredible determination.
We love hearing the stories on why fundraisers have chosen our charity, sometimes very personal accounts of how we have helped family members or friends and loved ones, and then other stories from people who have just heard about the work our charity does through work colleagues and want to help. We really do value every penny raised and enjoy explaining where the money will actually get spent.
We are not a rich charity but the work we are doing and the lives we touch really will make a difference to someone that you may know.
Today John Lagardere came to visit the centre, he had taken part in this years Parish walk and raised an amazing £344.00, he told us how his journey took him to Andreas, 55.5 miles, an incredible achievement that was only halted through complications with his torch. John's journey had a wonderful story behind it, and was inspired by the help we gave to a family member.
Strength through Support is our motto and I think that Johns reasons for raising sponsorship reflects that wonderfully, we will carry on supporting the local community as long as we can and fundraising events like these, are vital to help us carry on. Thank you John!
